Podcasts are all the rage. At home or on-the-go, more and more indie makers are listening to podcasts as a source of information and inspiration. Podcasts are a welcome alternative to browsing Twitter and Reddit or reading websites. With that in mind, we researched the most popular podcasts for indie makers, solo entrepreneurs, and bootstrappers. Here they are in no particular order.

Trouble Makers

First, let’s use this article as an opportunity to announce our very own podcast, Trouble Makers. Each month, one of the Maker Mag contributors interviews a guest – usually another indie maker – who shares their views and tactics around building a sustainable technology-based business. Episodes are about half-an-hour long, and feature honest conversations about the challenges and successes indie makers have met when implementing various technical and growth methodologies. This podcast follows Jon Buda and Justin Jackson as they build and launch Transistor, a podcast platform for brands. Product Hunt Radio

Hosted by Ryan Hoover, Product Hunt Radio is a weekly podcast featuring makers, founders, investors and journalists. The podcast focuses on the future of tech, new products, trends, and more. Depending on the topic, episodes range from 30 to 60 minutes. Generalist by design, this is a great podcast to get a well-rounded view of everything happening in tech.

Startups For the Rest of Us

This popular podcast helps developers, designers and entrepreneurs launch tech products, whether they are building their first product or are just thinking about it. Startups For the Rest of Us is hosted by Mike Taber and Rob Walling, who have a combined experience of over twenty years as tech entrepreneurs. With 400+ episodes, there is a lot to explore!

The Indie Hackers Podcast

This podcast, hosted by Courtland Allen, focuses on the stories of founders behind profitable online businesses. Lessons learned from trial-and-error, bootstrapping, growth tactics, productivity… The Indie Hackers Podcast touches upon many topics that are certain to resonate with indie founders.
